Plymouth Oil Company, LLC, is a $30 million extraction plant located at 22058 K-42 Merrill, Iowa - directly across from the new Plymouth Energy Ethanol Plant.
Founded by local investors, Plymouth Oil started operations in February 2010 purchasing raw corn germ and refining this material into de-oiled germ meal and kosher food-grade cooking oil. The plant has the capability of pumping out 90 tons of corn oil each day and about 300 tons of DCGM (defatted corn germ meal) daily, which is used for hog, poultry and dairy feed.
Buy - Sell Contracts and Relationships
Corn Germ Purchases - Plymouth Oil has contracts for a continuous supply of corn germ.
Meal Sales - The DCGM is sold to area livestock farmers, primarily hog operations. Independent anyalysis of the meal confirms the nutritional value and cost savings to hog producers. An extremely high interest in DCGM is shown by local hog farmers and we are selling all production.
Oil Sales - Plymouth Oil has an agreement with a third party to sell the corn oil.
